1874. Envelope sent free of charge from Santiago to England, addressed to France, with illustrated ''Sociedad Nacional de Agricultura/Chile 1869'' marking with cow, plough and bale, as well as ''Dirección General de Correos/Santiago(?) de Chile'' handstamp with postman riding a horse, Santiago cds and framed ''Franca'', the three later all in violet. The cover shows on reverse the Chilean consulate cachet in Liverpool and was very probably carried in a bag addressed to the Chilean consul in Liverpool, city from where the cover was forwarded to France and franked with 1874 6 d. grey (pl. 13, ''Huth'' perfing) tied by Liverpool duplex with oval ''PD'' alongside. French transits and arrival on front and reverse. Cover with imperfections due to rough opening at top, nevertheless an exceptional, fascinating and rare usage of postal history.
