1860, 5 c. dark purple, stone A, predominantly large even margins, paying the single rate for a short distance (less than 150 km.), on entire letter (part of the contents missing) from the Sub-Post Office of Jirón to Floridablanca. Stamp tied by very fine strike of red ''Jiron./Franca.'' oval handstamp, this being a very elusive cancellation which is probably unique used on cover in the classic period. Minor edge splitting and some age toning of little consequence. A rare single franking with only two covers recorded. Cert. Bortfeldt. Scott 10a; Yv 7. Ex Frohlich.
