Cover with docket of receipt inside from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires, bearing black ''Balparaiso'' straight-line and red italic ''Chile.'' handstamps, the latter applied in transit at Santiago. Conveyed at ''4'' reales rate in manuscript, made up of 1 real for the Valparaiso-Santiago section of its journey and 3 reales from Santiago to final destination according to the single rate applied since 1794. A very fine and scarce cover bearing these two handstamps, including the remarkable Valparaiso postmark applied in black, of which only three examples are recorded. SFC 48-4 & 41b. Ex Gálvez.
