1872, Oct. 28. Cover (bottom flap missing) from Tampico to Mexico City, paying the double internal rate for a distance above 16 Leagues with 25 c. red (Tampico, 40-72) tied by double oval handstamp on departure, in combination with 4 d. vermilion, pl. 12, applied at the British P.O. of Tampico from where it was carried by British steamship to Veracruz, with stamp tied by ''C63'' barred oval and corresponding double arc datestamp alongside. Slight filing folds to cover. A very rare combination franking with only two recorded bearing this 25 c. value. Scott 95; SG Z3. Ex Rosenthal.
