Jerusalem. 1872, Oct. 25. Registered envelope (opened for display) from Jerusalem to Kishinev, franked with 1867-83 fine printing pair of 15 s. (one stamp applied overlapping the edge resulting in a crease) and damaged pair of 10 s. on reverse, all tied by ''Gerusalemme'' cds's (Tchilinghirian/Tranmer fig. D), showing unframed ''Recom.'' and ''Franco'' handstrucks. Very fine cds of Kishinev on back. Despite faults, a very desirable and rare registered cover, further enhanced by the destination.
