1875, 1 r. vermilion, block of six with vertical and horizontal tête bêche pairs (types 19, 20, 16 + 2, 1, 6; pos. 274-76+289-91), with three ample to large margins, slightly cut into at part of one adhesive, all cancelled by pen strokes. Slight horizontal crease between stamps just touching the lower left stamp with small tear at left, nevertheless a very rare multiple of this variety. The Kurt Kimmel certificate states: ''The horizontal tête bêche (t. 1, 6; pos. 290-91) is rare. This is only the third horizontal one which I have recorded whereas I have recorded 22 of the vertical tête bêche pairs'', which is very well margined and not affected by imperfections. An impressive exhibition item. Cert. Kimmel. Scott 46b.
