The most important collection of Colonial Period postal history in existence. 1770-1818. Stunning collection of 60 covers or fronts of cover, mostly attractively mounted on exhibition pages, including several very early items of the XIXth Century and many very/extremely rare postmarks to note, such as ''Franca'' & ''Chyle'' in black on large part of entire letter (one of only two items recorded, ex-Lafuente Machaín and Balletti), 1784 cover with ''Franca'' & ''Chile'' in red (ex-Marticorena and Blank), the two only recorded letters (1789) with straight-line ''Chile'' (Tizón fig. 2, ex-Camino and Gálvez), 1797 cover to Buenos Aires with ''Balparairso'' in black and ''Chile'' in red (ex-Gálvez), 1794 entire with ''Aconcagua.'' in red (one of only two such items recorded, ex-Camino), the two only such items recorded with ''Santa Rosa'' in red (ex-Camino and Balletti), one of only two recorded ''Copiapo'' in black on front of cover, 1797-1804 two of only less than such five letters recorded with ''Balparaiso'' in black (ex-Marticorena & Blank, Camino), cover with ''San Fernando'' in red (ex-Gálvez), 1812 cover with ''Franca'' & ''Talca'' in red (ex-Gálvez), the only entire letter (1797) known with ''Concepcion'' in black to B. Aires (ex-Lafuente Machaín), the only recorded ''Concepn'' in red on front of cover (ex-Camino), 1809 entire letter with framed ''Angeles'' in red, the only entire letter recorded with ''Ballenar'' in black (ex-Marticorena & Blank), cover with ''Vadivia'' in red (ex-Camino) and front with the same handstruck, ''Coquimbo'' in red on cover (ex-Blank), 1805 letter with red ''Combarbala'' (only three recorded), as well as other rare postmarks.
