1872, September 27. Cover to Paris endorsed ''Via Panama'', with single 1871 20 c. rose-carmine paying the overseas rate per half ounce effective since the end of January 1872, tied by slightly doubled large numeral ''1'' in oval grid with ''Correos/Guatemala'' cds in blue alongside. The cover was carried by British Packet via British P.O. in Panama with ''A/colon'' cds on front. French entry, Anglo-French ''GB/1F60c'' accountancy marking per single weight letter rate and handstruck ''12'' (decimes) arrival rating on front, with London and Paris cds's on reverse.
