1875, 1 r. vermilion, block of six with vertical and horizontal tęte bęche pairs (types 19, 20, 16 + 2, 1, 6; pos. 274-76+289-91), with three ample to large margins, slightly cut into at part of one adhesive, all cancelled by pen strokes. Slight horizontal crease between stamps just touching the lower left stamp with small tear at left, nevertheless a very rare multiple of this variety. The Kurt Kimmel certificate states: ''The horizontal tęte bęche (t. 1, 6; pos. 290-91) is rare. This is only the third horizontal one which I have recorded whereas I have recorded 22 of the vertical tęte bęche pairs'', which is very well margined and not affected by imperfections. An impressive exhibition item. Cert. Kimmel. Scott 46b.
