1869-73, 1/2 r. ultramarine, a striking strip of four from the top of the sheet paying a single external rate per 1/4 oz, huge margins for the most part, just cut into slightly in two places, showing part of plate frame line at top, tied by dotted ''Franca'' lozenge on 4 January 1871 entire letter from Guayaquil to Lima (Peru), carried from Guayaquil to Callao by PSNC packet. A very impressive exhibition item, being one of very few covers known (not wrappers) franked with this denomination in strip of four. Scott 2. Ex Longhi.
