1853, 50 r. yellow green, good margins, used on June 12, 1855 cover from Lisbon carried by land to Marseilles, tied by “1” numeral, matching cds alongside, also with French red St. Jean de Luz entry and “10” decimes due marking to be paid by the addressee. Spanish Badajoz transit, and arrival on reverse. The stamp only covered the internal double rate up to 5/8 oz. Slight rust spots, not detracting from this rare single 50 r. franking to an external destination. Af 3; Mi 3a.
