1843, 90 r. black, second composite plate, state C, position 13, good to excellent margins showing dividing frame line at left, together with 30 r. black, large plate, state B, position 57, predominantly large margins, applied on reverse of April 4 1845 entire letter from Rio de Janeiro to the U.S. Consul in Rio Grande, carried at single maritime rate per 4 ''oitavas'' (1/2 ounce). Stamps tied by ''Correio Geral Da Corte'' cds. 30 r. adhesive with tiny surface rub in left margin, only mentioned for accuracy, as well as some insignificant edge imperfections to cover.
