1856, 1 r. yellow (Guanajuato), used to cover the inland single weight letter rate to Veracruz on envelope to France, cancelled by dotted square with British ''Vera-Cruz/Oc 5 1856'' double arc on back, carried by the ''Conway'' to St. Thomas where trans-shipped on the ''La Plata'' to Southampton, with framed red ''Colonies/Art-18'' Anglo-French accountancy marking ''15'' decimes due marking per 7 1/2 grs. London, Paris and arrival cds's on reverse. The only cover known with the Article 18 marking bearing a stamp. Very desirable. Scott 2. Ex Rosenthal.
