Two different delightful illustrated postcards, both depicting a Russian postman of the early XXth Century, with two small letters bags of leather affixed which open out to show a row of miniature souvenir photographs, one of them travelled to Switzerland charged on arrival with postage due.

1913, Romanov. 1914, March 5, large registered envelope (reduced on three sides) from St. Petersburg to Paris, bearing on reverse strip of five, strip of four and single of 1 r., and single copies of 2 r. and 3 r., with additional franking of 40 k., alongside with six red wax seals. Two items, one cover from Okna to Berlin franked on reverse with strip of four, pair and three singles (vertical crease very slightly affecting two adhesives), the other from Odessa to Philadelphia bearing on back five copies, undelivered and returned to sender with the application of New York P.O. label on front. Very rare frankings with this scarce perforation. Mi. 79CxI.

1919, 1 r. brown and orange perf. 13 1/2, strip of three vertically & lowerly imperforate and pair only vertically imperforate, both varieties showing displaced background, with additional franking tied by Zitomir cds's (14.VIII.22) and Moscow transits on back of registered envelope (opened for display) from Zitomir to Stanimaka (nowadays Asenovgrad in Bulgaria). An extremely rare cover showing these two varieties, one of them not listed in Michel catalogue, on non philatelic cover. Mi. 77DyUMs = unpriced used.

1921, Symbols of Industry, 5 k. grey-blue, very fine marginal vertical pair (slight corner crease away from the design, of little significance), paying the correct 10 r. rate, applied on front of registered cover from Petrograd (St. Petersburg) to Riga, dated 1921, Aug. 14, the last day of use of this stamp, only valid from August 10th to 14th. Also strip of four and single on front of parcel card (franking missing on reverse) from Moscow to Sosnitsa, dated 1921 (Aug. 10), the first day of issue; some creases and wrinkles, nevertheless an extremely rare multiple franking. A pair of most desirable frankings on non-philatelic pieces, two of the important rarities of R.S.F.S.R. Mi. 153.
