ONE OF ONLY TWO COVERS RECORDED BEARING A TÊTE-BÊCHE IN THE "SQUARE" STAMP ISSUED  28 March 1869: Entire letter from Valencia to Caracas, carried at single weight letter rate up to half ounce, for a distance between 25 and 100 miles, franked by 1866-69 1 /2 r. lilac rose, tete-beche pair, fourth setting, delicate pastel shade, tied by "29" manuscript cancels which represents the day on which the letter was posted, this being a compulsory practice at that time.
