"Via overland route via Potosi."1779 circa. Folded cover from Cadiz (Spain) to Lima, via Corunna and Buenos Aires, rated on departure with boxed "3 Pta." marking, then transported overland to Corunna where it was struck by "Espana" straight-line postmark in a different shade in red, following embarkation on the "El Clarendon" frigate as corroborated by the endorsement at left, departing from the north of Spain to call at Buenos Aires in America, following an overland route via Potosf. An exceptional and very rare combination of postmarks applied at Corunna and Cadiz, these cities being differenciately located on the northern and southern coasts of Spain. Ex Camino.
