1810 circa. Cover front from Puna (nowadays in Bolivia, then part of the Virreinato del Peru) to Madrid, very attractively struck on dispatch by "Puna" & "Peru" straight-line handstamps in red, with manuscript notation "Por Buenos Ayres" confirming the route via Corunna, and handwritten "8 r" rate for the single weight for maritime conveyance ( 1807 tariff). The only example recorded of the "Peru" of Puno used on transatlantic mail, as well as a highly desirable and most infequent usage from Bolivia.
